Mavs Extend Win Streak to Seven with Victory over Rockets
Luka Doncic Dominates with 47 Points, 12 Rebounds
The Dallas Mavericks continued their impressive run of form with a hard-fought 121-115 victory over the Houston Rockets on Monday at Toyota Center. The win marked the Mavericks' seventh consecutive triumph, solidifying their position among the Western Conference contenders.
Leading the charge once again was Luka Doncic, who put up another monstrous performance with 47 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. The Slovenian superstar was unstoppable, showcasing his full arsenal of offensive skills. He connected on 18-of-31 field goal attempts, including 5-of-13 from three-point range, and drained all eight of his free throws.
Kyrie Irving also played a pivotal role in the Mavericks' victory, contributing 24 points, seven assists, and four rebounds. The duo of Doncic and Irving proved too much for the Rockets to handle, as they combined for 71 points and 14 assists.
Despite a valiant effort from the Rockets, who were led by Jalen Green's 29 points and Kevin Porter Jr.'s 26 points, the Mavericks ultimately prevailed thanks to their superior execution down the stretch. Dallas connected on 48.5% of their field goal attempts compared to Houston's 43.8%, and they also outrebounded the Rockets by a margin of 47-35.
The Mavericks' win streak is their longest since the 2020-21 season, when they won eight consecutive games. They are now just two wins away from matching their longest win streak of the season, which stands at nine games. The Mavericks will look to extend their streak to eight games when they host the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.
